Fellow straight man here! I can recognise the character satirised in the OP, so I laugh it off without feeling shame, because I know it's not about me.
Your post however, because you say you're speaking for straight men, is intensely cringe. Yikes.
If you want to emphasize your listening skills, maybe use them more? Also, I'm not comfortable with you speaking on behalf of straight men, especially if you're telling queers to stfu. #NotAllMen are on board with this.
Looking for info about #lists... I'm following a few very prolific tooters. I've muted them for now to free up my timeline a bit. Tried putting them in a separate list but the mute setting there is still recognised so nothing shows up. What might I be able to do, other than unmuting, unfollowing and just using the list?

Interacting with me on this account, notifications
I tend to keep notifications off for boosts and faves, because they clutter and because I find myself looking to then for validation (which I personally don't want to do). You are more than welcome to fave/boost my toots for whatever reason you want, but I may not see it.
I know, though, that a lot of people, myself included, use the fave button as a kind of "message received" signifier. And boosts can mean many things.
If you're so inclined, here are some ways I'd love for you to interact with me instead of or in addition to boosts and faves:
For "acknowledgment" faves: send me a quick reply of 👍 or a variant.
For boosts that signify agreement or interest: reply and tell me what you think! I'd love to hear your perspective on what I say. Or ask questions, whatever makes you happy.
I want to stress that these are not "rules" and I won't be "enforcing" them. It's all totally optional. I just want to interact more personally 💜
@dirtycommo This reminds me of a general good rule in life: if someone claims you're going to be a "member" of an organisation, the first thing one should do is work out how you and the other members can remove the person in charge. If you can't, you're not really members.
food mention, religion mention (parenthetically)
Just want to explain (again) that it you are not Muslim, "halal food" can simply be referred to as "food". The same applies for "kosher", "vegan", "organic", "gluten free" or any other dietary preference that doesn't apply to you.
